Opinion on this excursion: WONDERS OF ENGINEERING: PANAMA CANAL LOCKS AND CULEBRA CUT CRUISE

We are going on a 14 day cruise in Jan and one of our stops is Colon, Panama.  I have read a couple of negative reviews on this excursion but it wasn't with Royal.  Has any one been on this excursion? Maybe all of them are the same no matter what cruise line.

Are you referring to Royal Caribbean' CO 26?  There are a number of excursion boats that can be used which probably doesn't make any substantial difference as I believe they are all from the same vendor.  The tour as described in CO 26 is the same basic tour that all cruise lines provide as well as that tour is also used for local tourism.

Some of the complaints stem from the fact that there can be some waiting for other vessels to arrive and the trip can turn into a longer than planned outing as well as Canal traffic itself.  Other complaints may be specific to that particular tour.  However the tour is good way to see some of the more important parts of the Canal, particularly if your cruise is only stopping at Colon and not entering the Canal.
