Has anyone been on this RCI tour? If so, I'm looking for your opinion please! We leave on 2/24 and am researching excursion options. We enjoy the outdoors and nature so this sounded interesting, but is it worth $49 to 'take a hike'?

Thanks for any help you can give!

My DH and I took this tour 3 weeks ago through RCI. It's hard to say whether it's worth it or not. I guess it depends on what you're hoping to see. We're interested in birdwatching and it wasn't a very good tour for that. The guide explains the different types of plants which can be interesting. We also saw a couple of species of butterflies, leaf-cutter ants, a troop of howler monkeys overhead, and a sloth hidden in the leaves of a tree (very difficult to see even with binoculars). You make a stop at Gatun Locks and actually cross the canal (by road - you have to wait if there's any ships going through) to go to the rainforest. Hope this gives you a little bit of an idea of what to expect.
