green eyed lady Posted February 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Hi everyone, My family is considering a RCCL cruise this summer. We have been on 2 other cruises with Carnival in the last 2 years. Does anyone have a list of the ships in order of how old they are? I am spoiled by new ships and want something fairly new. Any help would be great. Thanks. Jen

green eyed lady Posted February 14, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Thanks Parrothead. Actually I knew I could do that but rather than search thru each ship's info I was hoping someone would have a list of the ships in order of age. I'm really just looking for any that are say within 5-6 years old. Anyone? Jen

Tyler80 Posted February 14, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Green Eyed Lady, I understand how you feel. You can find detailed ship info on www.rccl.com Below are the last 10 ships that have been (or will be) delivered to Royal Caribbean and the dates of their maiden voyage from www.rccl.com. Freedom of the Seas - June 4, 2006 - Freedom Family Jewel of the Seas - May 8, 2004 - Radiance Family Mariner of the Seas - November 16, 2003 - Voyager Family Serenade of the Seas - August 1, 2003 - Radiance Family Navigator of the Seas -December 14, 2002 - Voyage Family Brilliance of the Seas - July 19, 2002 - Radiance Family Radiance of the Seas - March 10, 2001 Radiance Family Adventure of the Seas - November 18, 2001 - Voyager Family Explorer of the Seas - October 28, 2000 - Voyager Family Voyager of the Seas - November 21, 1999 - Voyager Family Please understand that all of Royal Caribbean's ships are maintained well, and that the ships will surely meet your expectations. Most ships if not all contain the outdoor rock wall, casino, various lounges and night clubs, day spa and workout center. The Freedom Family of ships, which is obviously new, will be the largest ships owned by Royal Caribbean to date. The next largest family is the Voyager and then the Radiance Family. Other smaller families of ships can again be found on www.rccl.com. A good ship family to start out with would be the Voyager Family of ships, they offer lots to do, and include the Royal Promenade (which isn't available on smaller ships) which is like a large mall in the middle of the ship, it's very cool. Which ever ship you choose, I hope you have a wonderful vacation, and welcome to Royal Caribbean International!
