Oversold UK cruises having to make cancellations

Been reading MSC, Royal Caribbean and P&O have all oversold their summer UK cruises with the expectation of restrictions easing and are now having to start cancelling some passengers - very disappointing to hear!

 

Waiting to see whether any other cruise lines have done the same, as we’re not currently impacted by any of these, but could well be if all cruise lines have followed suit!

Yes I was effected by this we were due to go next week with p and O instead changed to marella as they have a special £150 off uk sailings at the moment.

Viking Ocean are just completing their 3rd cruise and have pax counts below 50%. Not aware of any of their cruises being oversold.

I’ve heard Virgin haven’t oversold, they’ve taken a more cautious approach but may intend to increase capacity only after there’s confirmation of restrictions lifting.

Remember, to date they’d be operating under restrictions, it’s sailings from 21st June when the other cruise lines have been overselling, having assumed the restrictions would’ve been lifted…

In addition to UK cruises, they also started in Bermuda a couple of days ago. Even without Govt restrictions, they still had < 50%.

I think the issue of overselling may well be an issue for some time to come.

 

We've made a booking and paid a deposit  with Oceania for a Southampton to Southampton cruise in June next year. This was a couple of weeks back.  Secured the last available cabin in the category we wanted. And even looking at 2023 cruises with them, some cabin categories are already sold out.
