Av8tor Posted July 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2021 Anyone have experience with scuba diving while on a SeaDream cruise? Do they offer it themselves or at least help you make your own arrangements through dive op referrals or recommendations? Thanks
Reunionmama Posted July 14, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2021 Also scuba divers, and we have done several SeaDream trips. Very occasionally they will offer a shore excursion with a diving component, but this is really not their specialty, and it is tough for them to hit their excursion minimums. We have had more luck contracting separately with dive shops, who are typically very happy to do dock pickups and dropoffs. This also allows you to research the dive operation ahead of time for safety protocols, etc (we are quite careful). Obviously, you want to keep an eye on arrival and departure times from a port to ensure you can comfortably make it back to the ship.
TrapperZimmy Posted July 14, 2021 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2021 You also don't want to put down any substantial non-refundable deposits because ports-of-call can be changed for a variety of reasons. The concierge desk often books private excursions, but in this case I would take Reunionmama's advice and do your own due diligence.
kbwinn Posted July 15, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2021 We have been on two different SeaDream voyages with scuba diving excursions offered by SeaDream. The first was on our Cuba voyage, with one day of diving offered. The second was on a southern Caribbean voyage with two different days of scuba diving offered.
