Why is a  test cruise needed for a 95% vac passenger cruise?

I don't think it is a 95 percent vaccinated cruise -- otherwise wouldn't need all the mask protocols.

Test cruises are needed to get approval of the CDC to sail.

 

OH HAPPY DAY.  I am on the Sept 9th and I can't wait to see my girl again as I did her in May 2019.

 

Getting a balcony this time and will hide out a lot and enjoy the ocean.

Vaccines required for everyone 12+ beginning 1 August 2021 on Seattle departures, but because of the amount of kids potentially onboard they can't guarantee hitting that 95% threshold

That's not what they promoted when they first anouced those Alaska sailings!

They said vaccinated for over 12...I don't believe they ever specified 95% or more vaccinated.

They are doing a test cruise so that they do not need to reach the 95% vaccinated passengers.

They are requiring vaccinations for anyone over 12. 

By not being concerned with the 95% they do not need to monitor and limit the number of passengers under the age of 12.  I believe some of the cruise lines that are not doing test cruses are not allowing or tightly regulating the number of people under 12.
