lfy Posted February 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Curious, just got an offer if I wanted to change my cruise to another 7 day cruise because this one is overbooked. They will give us $250.00 shipboard credit per person, upgrade to balcony and upto $100.00 for airfare change penalty. Can not do it because wife is a teacher and vacation times are limited. Does anyone knows what happens if they do not get enough people to to accept their offer.
princess fan Posted February 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2006 What do they do, if they don't get enough people to accept this offer? They issue another offer, which is sweeter. This continues until the right number is reached. Nobody has to sleep in a lifeboat.
Rare Coral Posted February 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2006 They make better offers. Eventually enough people give in. I had 3 seperate calls on my Alaska cruise, each one better than the call before. The final offer was a free cruise (on another week), upgrade and $100 change fee. Druke I Posted February 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2006 As noted above, they will perhaps "sweeten the pot". Several years ago, on old Pacific Princess, we were getting phones calls as late as the morning of our flight to Honolulu to take a bump. We kept the cruise, but some of the offers were very generous.
