Budget Queen----HELP!!

I'm not sure if this is doable or not--we are doing the 7am shuttle to Toklat. Then I would really like to take the train from Anchorage to Seaward because I have heard that the scenery is beautiful. I know that you don't usually recommend same day trips, but time is limited-so I thought we'd go and walk around Seaward until time to take the train back to Anchorage- Would the train ride be worth the trip. Once we get back to Anchorage we would leave the next am for train ride to Whittier to get on the cruise ship. I'm not sure that it matters, but we are going to be there 5/27, sailing out of Whittier on May 29. Any recommendations for things to see from Denali to Anchorage? Thanks in advance for your help!

When are you on the Toklat shuttle??

If you are in Anchorage night of May 27, I would take the train Anchorage to Seward May 28, overnight, then a direct transfer from Seward to Whittier. There is PJ's taxi available out of Seward. I would not be doing a long day just to ride the train, far better would be to take it the one way, do a Kenai Fjords boat tour, overnight and have Pj's Taxi give you a look at Exit Glacier , then transfer you to Whittier. I wouldn't be in a rush to get on the ship, I would consider leaving Seward in the early afternoon. Also Seavey's sled dogs if of interest, Sealife Center?
