Raises many questions! I don't think there are any break up yards in Cyprus.🤔 Could it be transferred to other Carnival brand? Not earning any money stuck in port.☹️
woodscruise Posted July 24, 2021 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2021 Interestingly, Diamond and Sapphire Princess are heading to Cyprus. They are due in Cyprus on 08August.
Rare arxcards Posted July 29, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2021 Curious. Correct. No breaking yards in Cyprus, but not far to Aliaga from there. These ships have lots of life in them yet though. Last year, at a time when P&O vowed Pacific Dawn & Pacific Aria had not been sold, those ships undertook the same journey - to be sold. Fair to say they are not going to see any cruising here this year, which allows for most ships to be deployed to ports that have opened. That creates a bit of a problem for those P&O Australia ships that have been branded exclusively for our market. I am guessing a relocation of current essential crew back to Europe, then into cold layup until a decision can be made about a return to cruising here. woodscruise Posted July 29, 2021 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2021 (edited) Carnival had a number of ships (Princess and Seabourne) hanging around Cyprus last year, possibly cheaper port/anchorage fees. Also Pacific Adventure / Golden Princess is heading that way also Edited July 29, 2021 by woodscruise additional comment
