7-31 Mardi gras departure time change

Just got an email about the departure time changing to 6pm from port Canaveral..

Will this also change the check in times?

We just received this for our 8/7 sailing:

 

July 26, 2021   Dear Mardi Gras Guest, We have revised the departure time for your cruise and will now be sailing at 5:00 PM from Port Canaveral. This change will be reflected on Carnival.com within 24 hours, and the revised departure time will have no impact on our planned itinerary. All guests must be checked-in and on board no later than 60 minutes prior to the newly published sailing time. We look forward to welcoming you aboard for a FUN and memorable cruise.

I thought 7pm was kind of late to be leaving PC.  5pm seems normal to me and no, I don't think this will effect embarkation time slots.

It was originally scheduled for a 7pm departure?

 

I'm guessing the new 6, and 5 pm spots allow the port a little extra time for the unknown (all the "new" factors involved).

It may have to do with inaugural activities, celebrities and ribbon cutting, and other things associated with a new ship and new terminal.
