Why isn’t Celebrity doing Covid Testing Pre Boarding?

Booked on the best of Japan cruise March 27, 2022. If this cruise happens, it now appears that Celebrity wants a negative Covid test result no more than 72 hours before embarking the cruise ship. This is even shorter if flying from the U.S. since via the calendar you lose a day flying to Japan. The only solution would be to get tested in Japan which may not be easy. Some unknowns here, how fast are test results available in Japan? Can test results be given in English versus Japanese? What will the cost of tests be in Japan?

It makes very little sense to speculate NOW about what's going on in March of 2022 even IF this cruise is going to happen. Things change on a daily basis.

Situation as of right now is that you can get tested without problem in the greater Tokyo area and elsewhere in Japan but it's very expensive. I highly doubt that a cruise line will require a test result in Japanese. Your real problem might be actually getting into Japan by next spring. That's what I'd be worried about, not the cruise!
