How is the Air Conditioning on Mardi Gras?

Have the public spaces and cabins on Mardi Gras been hot or cool? Obviously it is August, so I don’t expect it to feel like walk in freezer. My group tends to be hot blooded, and just walking around can work up a sweat, especially with a mask on. I have heard the aft balconies can be hot most of the day. I am hoping the cabin stays cool with the curtain closed while we are out and about.

We were on Mardi Gras 8/14-21. Our cabin stayed plenty cool.  At night we did set it on the lowest setting and push the boost button because we like it cold at night.  In a couple of areas in the evening center stage and the theater, I would wear a light jacket.

That is great to hear! I sleep so much better when the room is cold. Sounds like we will be comfy in the theater and atrium.

We were on the Harmony of the Seas in 2018 and found the public spaces and cabins quite warm. It was especially hot in the elevator lobbies. It was so stuffy in the dining room we asked the staff to move us. Thankfully they were able to put us at a table near the entrance with good air flow.

We were on her 8/7-8/14. Had a small tower fan in the room and felt is was actually cold at various times.(daytime naps)  Also, had the balcony door closed but not latched at one point. AC worked but the seal allowed humidity in the cabin and the ac was dripping from condensation until we figured out what happened. Found public areas very comfortable. Enjoy!

That is what I like to hear! Thank you @May1cruiser!

Glad to hear this. Sailing on MG on 9/4. Every CCL cruise I have been on (even Alaska in May) the cabin was too warm and couldn't really cool it off. Both balconies and inside staterooms. I actually slept outside on the Serenity deck one one ship because it was cooler than the room.

We got off Mardi Gras today, and I found the AC to be kind of inconsistent.  We had a balcony room mid-ship.  During the night, it was pretty nice and cool, but too warm at times during the day (even on the coolest setting).

In regards to public spaces, I'm typically cold (I'm the person who brings a sweater to the dining room, theater, etc) because the AC usually freezes me, however, I never it wore it once on the MG.

Just to add an interior cabin experience to the mix, we got off yesterday and thought the cabin was well cooled.  Never needed the boost setting and rarely set it to the coldest setting.  Snuggled under covers every night.  For us, interior spaces around the ship were cool but not freezing.  If was a hot week, but indoors the only times we were warm/hot was in the terminal waiting in line and waiting on deck six to disembark, not sure why that was so stuffy but it was.

Thanks all for telling us your experiences. I think it will at least be nice and cool for sleeping. Sounds like getting on and off the ship will be a sweaty experience, though. You would think a brand new terminal would be nice and cool. It seems like more and more buildings are warmer than they have been in the past, perhaps to save $$. Or maybe it is just me getting fluffier. 🤣

I am from Louisiana, so very accustomed to AC. Unfortunately looks like I will be without it for at least a week. Thanks Ida!

We were on Deck 16. Cabin had one temp at the lowest setting. Antarctica. Plus you could add in the Boost for extra frozen excitement! (And I am not cold natured - I am ALWAYS hot!)

I also felt pretty cold in the Casino. The machines against the walls have AC piped in and blowing on your legs, I would have killed for a piece of cardboard to block it off! 😁

The Lido was hot and humid near the doors on either end but the AC worked fantastic once you got away from the doors.

The rest of ship, I can't tell you. I didn't leave my cabin for the first four days on purpose. I was way too freaked out over the lack of mask enforcement.

I think the problem is mostly open doors. It has been very humid in addition to the heat.  I have heard many times on many ships that balcony rooms are harder to keep cool than interiors or oceanviews because not only might you open your own door, letting in heat and humidity, but the neighbors might as well, making the system struggle with the whole area.  We were also in an interior room. We did run the boost because my husband likes to be really cool and while I wouldn't call it Antarctica, it was cool enough for him. As others have noted I don't remember ever needing a sweater or jacket in public rooms and I was mostly wearing lightweight garb.

In the terminal the door is big and open the whole time so really no way to capture the cool air completely. In Florida, in August mind you. If they could shut the doors or if they had an airlock it might help.

Every year, millions of people visit places of celebration to enjoy the food, colorful parties, and parades full of feathers, beads, costumes, and masks.

It's hot during the day, so you must turn on the air conditioning. It's much calmer at night, but I don't turn off the air conditioning. Once I even had to call for air conditioning services to adjust the air conditioner. I have to admit that our room and public areas were quite cool and pleasant, despite the dry and strong wind. If you visit this city, book a hotel room with air conditioning.
