Hotels in Long Beach, California

Recommended Posts

We took a cruise from the same port about 2 years ago. The hotel stay was at the Doubletree.  It was clean and the staff were very nice, when we were there. there was a free shuttle service to the port and the driver was super friendly. He even brought us some cookies for the ride.  There was a restaurant in the hotel, which was handy, but I recall the service was not great and the food was just okay.

If you are coming in the day before, stay in San Pedro at either the DoubleTree San Pedro or Crowne Plaza San Pedro.

If you are coming in two days early, Downtown Long Beach is fine with places like the Hyatt Concentric, Hyatt Regency, Residence Inn and DoubleTree Hotel Maya.

We live in Long Beach and are on a Feb. cruise as well. Depending on how early you are coming in, the hotels in San Pedro would be good. The area across the dock on Shoreline are also nice, lots of things to do there with good resturants, shopping, Aquarium of the Pacific and port tours are availible. All are close to the dock with easy transportaion or parking at the dock.

To clarify, "the Shoreline area" is in Downtown Long Beach, 6 miles from the San Pedro World Cruise Center. The San Pedro hotels are less than a mile from the WCC, but I would say if you are spending more than just the night before the cruise, Downtown Long Beach would be preferable to San Pedro for a multi day stay.
