Zuiderdam Aft Deluxe Verandah Stateroom vs. Superior Verandah Suite

I'm in the process of booking a cruise on the Zuiderdam, and it appears that the VA category cabins on the aft of the ship are almost as large as the SS category cabins. Does anyone have any experience or advice, with regards to the size comparisons of those cabins, as I will be traveling with my wife and our 1 yr. old. Many thanks.

You can call Hal and give them any cabin # and ask for the sq. footage, we found them to be very helpful and forthcoming with loads of information.

We have discovered that the VA category can vary as much as 40 sq.ft. depending which deck you are on.

NO WAY does an aft VA match size of SS!! SS MUCH LARGER!!

[based on our experience on W'dam for B2B in Nov -- we checked out the VA afts on Sunday between our 2 wks just to see if we would have liked it as well as the SS!]

Yes, balcony on VA aft larger but NO PRIVACY -- we had complete privacy on our SS balcony & plenty of space for 2 of us!!!

We have occupied both, and I can assure you that:

  • The interior of the SS is double the size of the wake VA
  • The bathroom of the SS has two sinks and a separate shower
  • The veranda of the SS 1/3 to 1/2 the depth of the VA on the wake, and except for deck 8, are totally exposed to view from above

I much prefer the SS, but would book the VA if price was a concern.
