Tiffany_Zerbe Posted September 19, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2021 Hello! I booked a cruise with 7 family members. One member can no longer join. However, we already added this person to the cabin with 2 others. What are some options? I can't find anything on the website other than a name change. What if I can't find anyone else to replace them? Thank you!

If you get someone to take their place may not be a charge to change name (especially if it's a long way off). But I'm not really sure. Maybe somebody else has the answer. Hope it all works out. Happy cruising.

Thank you! 1) Guest can be a no show, port fees and taxes would be refunded; would lose third guest fare. 2) There often is a $50 name change fee to switch new guest. I've seen posted that others have faced higher fee because of booking Cheers fare. 3) You could cancel that cabin and rebook cabin for 2 guests. This option would only help if you save money. Deposits are often non-refundable but they can and do make exceptions. There are many great casino fares right now. 4) You could potentially lose the 3 person cabin if you remove the third guest and rebook a cabin for 2. Your booking page online should list a penalty if you chose to cancel. Before final payment, this would probably be the "non-refundable" deposit. I would do a mock booking for 2 guests in that cabin to compare costs. You can call Carnival to see your options and decide before final payment.

Are the taxes and fees automatically refunded or is some action needed?

Sorry I should have been more clear… Just for clarity, does the same thing apply if the second person (on a 2 person booking) doesn’t show? I know rooms are sold based on double occupancy, and that the “single supplement is the same as paying for the second person… but do they refund taxes+fees in this case (or is it only those beyond the double occupancy)? I’m on a casino free room, and there’s a chance my 2 person booking will end up just being me.

You will not pay the solo supplement, but that person will not receive a refund of the cruise fare.
