Travel from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires or Punta del Este

We are currently booked on a round South America cruise in early 2023. Cruise goes down the West coast and back up the East coast. It includes 4 days in Antarctica but I have been there twice and have no interest in going again. Right now I am looking at getting off in Ushuaia and rejoining the ship in Punta del Este or Buenos Aires. Can anyone tell me from experience how either one might work? Thanks

It can be done, but you will have to get PRIOR authorization from the cruise line Headquarters.  If you do it is relatively straight forward, the ships purser will provide you any paper work you will need.

However, it is not always possible to do so as it depends on the country.  In this COVID world it may complicate things too.

We did a similar type of thing in South Africa, where we got off in Capetown spent 3 days on Safari and back to the ship in Durban.
