Which cruise ship leaving from NY/Bayonne?

I need help deciding on which cruise ship to take for an August cruise to BErmuda. Last year we took the RC Voyager of the Seas and loved it. But we want to stay longer and see the other ports in Bermuda this time. I can't decide on the cruise ship this time - Celebrity Zenith or NCL Crown or RCL Empress. Can anyone give me a comparison.

Thanks

I can’t give you a comparison of the cruise ships but how about the itinaries?

JMHO, but based on the 7 day cruise we did 10 years ago where the cruise ship stayed at King’s Wharf (KW) for our entire stay in Bermuda, I would not go on a cruise ship that even stayed one day at KW. I know there are supporters of KW, but you are just too far removed from the centers of activity. A ¾ hour ride to get to Hamilton by water taxi and the same to return. Just not for me, so that is why on 4/22 we’ll be on the Zenith to Bermuda for 7 days.

Of the cruise ships you have selected:

According to the CC site, the NCL Crown stops at KW, forgetaboutit!

According to the CC site, the RCL Empress departs from Philly but stops only at Hamilton & St George; if you don’t mind going to Philly, that would be a good choice.

But why go to Philly when you can take the Zenith from Cape Liberty, my choice.

Have you read the threads on Zenith here at the Celebrity board: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28

or visited the Celebrity Connections board for Zenith here:

or read the reviews for Zenith here:

Opposing opinions are welcome.

If you were willing/able to leaving out of Philly Id say Empress.

If you are really wanting to leave out of NY/NJ, I personally would say to go NCL.

The Crown stops at all three places most of the season. (Check the itineraries)

HOWEVER>>>

Id have a major issue leaving Bermuda at 8:30 AM for no good reason.

( I do see there is one date in Aug leaving at noon and skips Kings Wharf.)

Im going to say take the Zenith. You basically get most of the last day to enjoy the day at Tabacco bay or shop in St Georges

All are nice ships. I personally prefer RCCL/NCL to X now.

What kind of things are you looking for in the cruise?

I would suggest the Zenith -- boarding couldn't be easier, you go to Hamilton and St. George and you're right in the middle of everything in Bermuda. We had the best time last June and I'd go again at the drop of a hat. We live in NJ and it was very, very convenient for us -- a quick ride to Bayonne, parking within walking distance of the terminal -- I think we were checked in and enjoying lunch by about an hour after we left our home! We were definitely home an hour after we left the ship on the day we returned.
