Noreen411 Posted February 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Hi We booked a parasailing excursion through Royal Caribbean for the afternoon at 4pm. Prior to parasailing, we'll be shopping, sightseeing, etc. Is there a place to put our "stuff" while we're parasailing so it doesn't get wet? Sorry if this is dumb question, but it's our first time...What do you wear to parasail? A bathing suit or shorts and a TShirt? Thank you Noreen
harmonymouse Posted February 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2006 They usually have a dry locker on the boat to store your pack and stuff. If you have something that absolutely can't get wet, pack it in a ziplock before leaving the ship. I would wear a swimsuit. When we did it, we asked to be dipped, which is a lot of fun. When they get ready to bring you down, they have enough control of it that they can dip you waist deep in the ocean for a moment, then pop you back up and bring you in. If you do that, you will obviously get wet. Otherwise, you should be fairly dry unless the water is really rough and sprays into the boat as you are heading out and back. Be sure to slather on the sunscreen. A sunburn is never attractive, and is very easy to get when you're out in the water like that (just ask my hubby how burned he got doing the parasailing in St. Thomas). Noreen411 Posted February 25, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 25, 2006 Hi Thank you for the information. One more question... How much would you recommend tipping the guys that work the boat? I'm assuming they get tipped? It's a Royal Caribbean excursion. Thank you again Noreen
