Covid Testing and Embarkation at Southampton

Leaving on the Sky Princess on 5 November. Have been advised that Covid testing takes place at the Mayflower Cruise Terminal but that the ship departs from the Ocean Terminal. Can anyone confirm how long the Covid testing takes and comment on how easy it was to get a taxi to transfer to the Ocean Terminal. Seems strange not to use the same terminal for testing and embarkation on a quiet Cruise sip day in Southampton.

Testing takes place at the terminal you depart from.

Last week it took 90 minutes from the time we arrived at the terminal to entering our cabin.

Unless things have changed since the end of September when we were on Sky,  the testing at the Mayflower terminal is only for passengers arriving in their own car and is a drive through,  we were done in less than 10 mins. Results were through in 20mins. We then drove to Ocean terminal to drop off car. It was the only ship leaving that day.

Passengers arriving on foot or by taxi were tested at Ocean terminal and waited for their results in the terminal.

We park in Triangle Carpark just opposite Ocean terminal.

We have sailed twice this summer on the Regal and Sky. We parked as normal and walked straight to the terminal both times. On arrival we were directed next door to the test centre there.

You queue, take the test and then go upstairs to the check in area.

We had to show all the docs required ie PLF proof of day 2 test etc and were told to take a seat.

After a short wait the result came in to our phones and we got to go up to the check in desk.

As we are Platinum we had a shorter wait on the Sky as we had priority boarding.

Hope this helps.

Just get the taxi to take you straight to ocean and you'll be instructed to take the test in the same place we did.

As someone said the drive in at Mayflower is aimed at those using other carparks like CPS.

Enjoy your cruise. X
