phone home from Barbados....internet cafes?

Can anyone tell methe best way to phone home from these islands to check on the kids? Any cell phone service w/ Verizon?

You should be able to check with Verizon to see if they have a roaming agreement with either Cable & Wireless or Digicel.

 

failing that, purchase a Cable and Wireless phone card and use that instead of using the phones in your hotel. There are also a few internet cafe's scattered around Barbados, you can use those to check your e-mail etc.

We called home form Barbados, St lucia, and Grenada. The cost was around $2.00/min for Cingular service. It was not bad, considering how great the reception was. It was like calling from home.
