Possible stupid question about fridges

Why do some of you have your fridges cleaned out at the beginning of the cruise

Probably so they do not feel tempted to drink what is in there.

Or to make room for what is smuggled on board....:cool:

If the fridge has soda, bottled water, etc. already in it - -- then there is no room for the soda or bottled water that I brought with me. . . . . so I ask my cabin steward to empty it. The drinks that the cruise ship stocks the fridge with costs more than I am willing to pay.

On a cruise that we did not request the fridge be cleared we were mistakenly charged for sodas we did not drink. By asking for it to be cleared they cannot "accidently" charge you.

After lots of cruises (more than 40) on lots of cruise lines we always asked to have our fridge cleaned out as soon as we meet our steward. As previously stated, this avoids any possible mis-understandings (or mis-billing) and leaves lots of room so that we can put in our own soda, wine, etc. Unfortunately, RCL does not provide fridges on all ships/cabins as is the practice on some of its competitors such as Princess.
