TaqPath Combo Kit and TaqPath Combo Kit Advanced C-19 Tests

Has anyone used either of these tests to satisfy RCI's pre-cruise testing requirement?  It is a molecualr PCR test so I assume it is acceptable under the current protocols.

We scheduled our tests through a local healthcare provider for two days prior to embarkation, but I really need to know for certain that RCI will accept these tests.  The last thing I want is to show up at the terminal, thinking I'm good to go, only to find out that RCI doesn't recognize these tests...

 

I reached out to RCI, but haven't heard anything back yet...

Sounds legit to me, I think you're good to go.  I was told by the head of guest relations that any molecular test administered by a proctor is good.  We found Walgreen's testing to be more than adequate.  We cruised in September.

Then you almost certainly will be fine. The big thing is proctored so they know the test is done the right way and certified.

 

I doubt that the person checking your paperwork at the port will be a trained epidemiologist with the nuanced skill set to determine the details of your test.

Thanks all.  As a contingency, we will also schedule tests at CVS that same day...I'd hate to drive all that way and not have the results in time to board...

Why don’t you just use CVS and bypass the other facility? CVS is very reputable. You can be certain that the test is legitimate and the results will be as accurate as possible.

Does RCI accept the CVS Rapid Test?  According to CVS' website it is a PCR test.

I understand that RCI will accept a PCR or antigen test no more than two days before you cruise. Maybe confirm at RCI website. Good luck with the testing nightmare!
