Mardi Gras inside connecting rooms

So I have 2 inside connecting rooms with my son & grandson in one room & my granddaughter and I in the other. Can we keep the adjoining door between the rooms open at all times? Also I know the rooms are small so does the door being open make it even smaller  or does the door open back far enough that it doesn’t impede walking through the room?

we had connecting on the pride. loved it.  we kept it unlocked but not opened all the time.
