charlielinda Posted December 9, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2021 We own a home (and have a mortgage) in Florida and spend five months a year there. Does anyone know what paperwork Celebrity needs if you ask for the Resident Rate? We do not have Florida driver’s license. Note: we do know that Disney will take a mortgage and utility statement. I think they may go with the primary residence from where you booked.
TeeRick Posted December 9, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2021 Not sure what Celebrity needs for documentation. But for a number of other things (like the IRS and income tax purposes) you need to prove that you have residence in FL (owned or rented) for 6 months plus 1 day (called the 183 day rule). It would perhaps be helpful with Celebrity if you could then prove your 6+ month residency with holding a FL driver's license. I'm sure many others here can comment on this. We used to have a house in FL but we were never able to show 6 month residency and also we never tried to change our driver's license. But our car there had FL license plates. Jeremiah1212 Posted December 9, 2021 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2021 I've never seen them ask for verification. One guest has to have a qualifying address entered in their guest info. That said, there are no resident rates available right now and the trend is to have the resident rate match the Cruise Only rate which is available to everyone. There is no big win in pulling one over and lying about your state even if you could.
charlielinda Posted December 9, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted December 9, 2021 Thanks everyone. Today discovered you need a drivers license or passport with Florida address. Totally understand.
