I talk a walk around the immediate area.

Google image search didn't come up with what the really tall monument is.

Statue of Ludwig Holberg, considered to be the father of Danish and Norwegian literature, 1684 - 1754.

Goodness, what a day you've had!  Do hope you can now relax and enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Looking through your photos above brought back fond memories.  Among the photos you have posted above is one of Hurtigruten's Trollfjord.  We sailed on this ship ten years ago and had the most wonderful cruise up the Norwegian coast to Kirkenes (The Classic Round Voyage).  We were even fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights - a very moving experience.  Hope you get to see them too.

Statue of Snorri Sturluson who was an Icelandic historian, poet, and politician. He was elected twice as lawspeaker of the Icelandic parliament, the Althing.

Heading back to the ship.

Passer-by cheered me up.

Hot chocolate at the pier.

Two of the wonderful CD crew in a 6xl jacket!

Thanks for following. It's been quite a day!

Took the shuttle into town. Soon after we got off the bus the hail fell enthusiastically, then the sun came out, then it hailed again. Then it stopped. Crew members passed us on scooters!

The Tourist Information Centre is upstairs above the fish market. Very helpful.

Sjømannsmonumentet

The Seaman's Monument.

Statue on the (closed) Sundt Department Store is the Statue of Mercury - Roman god of trade, profit and commerce. The 3,5 meter tall statue was made by Sophus Madsen.

A mall. We may have shopped.

Day 22 / 67

Day 6 Norway

Good morning.

Thanks for following.

Woke just before sailaway. Didn't go out on deck surprisingly enough. Current location. Today's crafts.

Someone asked about painting classes. There's a watercolour session this morning listed in the 'Today'.

Hi 👋

No more news about the  passport. My friend is in possession of his. Has it been cloned? We may never know. I did have this happen to a relative of mine years back who got arrested and locked up for a few hours when flying out of Vienna 😲

Yeap. Caribbean bound 🤞

We were originally booked to go to navigate around South America. When Saga had to cancel that they replaced with two similar Canaries cruises, this Norway one and the Caribbean. Not even close to the thrill of sailing up the Amazon or visiting The Falklands. But hey, we're at sea and having quite an adventure regardless!

I looked at the South America circumnavigation last year -  I think it was about 72 nights ? - looked absolutely fantastic - I didn’t realise it had been cancelled.

Day 7 Norway

Good morning.

Thanks for following.

Current status... sat in laundry room.

First come first served in the theatre later.... assume it's for the big band this evening's two shows. Couldn't hear the announcement, noise of washers / dryers.

Have signed a door decoration 😃
