Tested for Covid pre Alta arrival. We tested negative. A very few guests have had to self isolate having been t&t as being near the person with Covid.

 Am trying vegetarian dishes. Tonight this was gratinée crepes florentine.... absolutely delicious.

 

Wonderful show from Chris Dean's Syd Lawrence Orchestra with a singer whose dress was stunning as was her voice. Sadly I didn't catch her name.

Captain Colm hopes between 0115 and 0230 tomorrow morning to be able to do a full 180⁰ at North Cape, furthest north of European mainland, so both sides of the ship will be able to see it, weather permitting we should see the Aurora Borealis 🤞

 

We were to have docked in Honningsvåg there so this is to slightly compensate for that.

We have LFT tests again tomorrow morning. Can't be too careful.

5pm. Just announced KP4 Aurora sightings between 9pm to midnight and forecast KP5 until daylight. Cloud cover may interfere though.

 

Kp 4 – Active – Bright, constant and dynamic northern lights visible. More colours start to appear

 

Kp 5 – Minor storm – Bright, constant and colourful aurora display, red and purple colours appear. Aurora coronae likely.

We arrive in Alta around 3pm tomorrow. Shortly after 4pm we have a pre excursion meeting with our guide. An early dinner before we head out around 630pm. A light meal will be available on our return. Here is the included excursion.

2 lessons learnt this morning..... 1. Zoom in to scenery when live. 2. Commentary useless when moving outside on balcony and 3. Wear thicker clothing!! 🥶

Now back on board. What an evening! First set of pics arriving at the site.... lavvu tents to warm up in.

 

The thing about Aurorae is that my naked eye doesn't necessarily see them.... but the camera lens does! So whilst we got used to the light I just pointed and shot!
