debbie9703 Posted February 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2006 Has anyone been to Dickerson Bay? The tour book says that it is bustling, a place to watch people. Also says the water is calm.I want to know how nice the beach is, how is the snorkeling?
maggieq Posted February 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2006 Certainly one of my favorite beaches. We were there in May 04. Got a taxi and hung out by the bar area. There are chair and umbrella rentals. Also don't worry about getting back to ship. Most of the taxi drivers hang out in the same area and will take you back when you want. Don't snorkel so can't tell you much there. Beautiful calm, walm water. We were beside one of the rex resorts and at the other end was the sandals resort. We like to walk on the beach and walked down to the sandals resort and back.....very nice.
Karencruiser43 Posted February 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2006 What water sports do they have? Thanks!
SqueakyDust Posted February 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Yes, the beach is bustling. You can stay up close to the bars etc or go further away so just on the beach. You can't get into the Hotels as there are guards at the gates! No snorkelling that we found. Only the odd clear/white fish. We swam in an enclosed bit, as there were jet ski's to hire (sorry didn't notice anything else) Although the water is calm, getting in isn't. it does dip a bit and goes deep quite quickly. We had our kids with us, so tended to be stuck in the 'surf'. It was the first beach we hit on our cruise, and our DS wouldn't come right into the water here. Just nervous of the pull of the water I think. It is a lovely beach, and you'll easily get transport to/from the ship.
