Anchorage & Fairbanks?

Plans and reservations are almost done! Just two more things...1 night in Anchorage and 1 night in Fairbanks. Any suggestions as to where to stay? Also, anything that stands out as a must see or do? Thanks everyone for all your help, I know I couldn't have done it without these boards.

Some of the hotels are filling up. We got $179 rate at (Fairbanks) Springhill Suites by Marriott. Its relatively new, continental brkfst, etc. I know its not 'local flavor' but there's no cancelation penalty until late and many local places have $25 cancelation charge. Good Luck. We stayed at Hilton before in Anchorage and it was alright.
