Nynashamn - Star Princess - How early off ship?

We are trying to estimate what time we would be able to arrive in Stockholm once we dock in Nynashamn given that we have to tender and take the train.

Does Princess make you wait till all their tours have gotten off?

Anyone book an independent tour and gotten off with the Princess tours?

Thanks

Julia

We were one of the first passengers in the lounge for departure on the tenders. We arrived at the lounge around 7am hoping to catch the 8am train into Stockholm. Unfortunately, we were a the ship was a little late arriving and we didn't get off the ship until after 8. We still had to walk to the train station. We may have been delayed due to the excursions getting off first.

We did Stockholm independently with another couple we met on the boards. Once off the train in Stockholm we boarded a bus to the Vasa. Then we took a ferry over to Gamla Stan and followed Rick Steve's walking tour through Gamla Stan to the Palace. Once through the palace we walked over to City Hall then walked back to the train station and returned to the ship. It was a very quick trip and we wished we had more time in Stockholm. You could probably see more if on an organized excursion, however we did get to see exactly what we wanted given the amount of time we had.

Thank you SaylorGirl. Did you do Stockholm on your own or did you hire a private guide?

We did it on our own it was very easy. Stockholm is an easy city to walk around you can even take the ferry boats, they weren't running the day we went because of the bad weather. The great thing that happened to us, we were walking down one of the side streets and noticed the Police were blocking everything off, so we kindof hung around. A motorcade with limos and police cars and several other official cars pulled into a building, turns out it was the Royal Mews and a few minutes later the carriages and horsemen started out. We were standing just a couple feet away from the King of Sweden and the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The next carriage had their wives. It was so incredible we walked along part of the route with them and the King turned and waved to me! Stockholm was great!
