First time on Celebrity.  Just upgraded our Alaska Cruise in September moving from Veranda to Concierge Class for $186 total.  Can someone please tell me the difference?  Hope the upgrade was worth it.

The lunch in the MDR is a nice, relaxing way to start a cruise - the selection is limited, but adequate.

You also get a bottle of sparkling wine (on request).   We sometimes take it home with us and use it for mimosas after we return home, as a way to extend our vacation.

The footstools on the balcony are nice.

I'm pretty certain that you get a nicer bathrobe to use.

The "daily delectables" are more amusing than delectable - but it is fun to guess what is under the food cover.

You get 5 Captain's Club points per night instead of the 3 points a night with a regular veranda.

The room service breakfast menu is expanded - I have no idea what the additions are.

That said - I prefer Aqua Class because we end up spending money buying passes to the Persian Gardens, and I like eating in Blu.

We had daily messages from the Concierge reminding us of upcoming events (or something like that).

I'll share the one of the benefits that I found to be of value. We were in Concierge Class and had Select Dinning. On multiple occasions we went for dinner and there was a long line. People in front of us were given pagers and ask to come back later. When we got to the hostess. We were immediately welcomed by our names and escorted to a table. This was on a full ship, so in today's environment with ships sailing less than full, it may not be as of much value.

I'm glad you were happy but it probably wasn't due to being in Concierge class.  It was probably due more to your table being available.  They usually try to route people to the same waiter and maybe your timing was just lucky.  It does amaze me that many of the staff learns your name so quickly.  We have seen that on many occasions and we seldom sail CC.

Yea, but it's a special umbrella in CC.  😉

A "special" umbrella. Just as long as all of them keep the rain off my head. Does the "special" one come with a butler to hold it over my head or something?🤣

Think you have made the point countless times, I am new here but already seen you are someone who thinks he or she’s clever and amusing, you’re not, you’re one sad individual. First and last time I will respond to your posts. Feel sorry for you feeling the need to belittle people.

That's too bad.  Sorry I won't be hearing from you. 🤣

We have cruised concierge class and have had this exact same experience with select dining several times. I made this comment on a different thread and was promptly slapped down by one of the “old timers” saying that it just wasn’t true. Not the same old timer who just told you you didn’t know what you were talking about. However I think the ones who refuse to believe our stories generally cruise in suites and just can’t believe that people who don’t pay as much as they do actually get some perks too.

FYI, the "old timers" that cruise in suites would know very little about table assignments in the MDR.  It's strange that you would believe people with less cruising experience rather than "old timers" with more experience.  As long as you enjoyed yourself, that's all that really matters.

Good on you, cruise the way that works for you!
