Charlie2na Posted February 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2006 Where do the cruisers stay precruise eve? Inexpensive and close to port.
trish1c Posted February 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2006 Check out the Ports of Call boards under US. There are lots of suggestions. Understand that "inexpensive" in NYC means less than $200 per night.

newmexicoNita Posted February 26, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2006 why not try hotels in jersey city. just across the bay from NYC and easy access to trains, buses, etc. this is exactly what I was thinking. We are possibly going to be on the Spirit on the 9th of April. We don't want to spend an arm and leg for just one night. NMnita
Anni_M Posted February 27, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2006 When we cruised out of New York last month we stayed at the Skyline hotel. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel! It was a $30 cab ride from LaGuardia, the hotel itself was literally 5 minutes from the pier (ok 10 with traffic). We saw a ton of the tourist attractions on the way there. Cost with tax for husband, myself and 2 kids was $180. Fat Sals pizza (YUM!) was right across the street, and walking distance to tons of things if you get there early enough. Don't even let the fact that it's close to the pier scare you - I'm neurotic about safety with my kids - especially since we're from a small town and were going to a huge city.
