If you are referring to your next cruise out of St. Marten, you are out of luck

Only cruises leaving from a US port fall under the jurisdiction of a court in Ft Lauderdale.

All others are in a Naples, Italy court.

My attorney thought about that but said that is not the case.

All travel sellers in Florida need to follow a certain set of rules and even though they are out of Europe, they have a registered agent who needs to handle stuff like that here despite what the T&C states. Its a scare tactic.  What if the T&C said it must be heard on the moon?

The contact person in FL is Vincent travel agency out of FT. Lauderdale. Since it does leave out of the USA, it might even be able to be heard in my jurisdiction.

My one concern is that your well documented trail may not matter if you pay the extra $1800

By paying the extra $$ you are in essence agreeing that you owe it.

I know $1800 is a lot of money for a lot of people but in the grand scheme of things and for your own peace and enjoyment I think I would let it go.
Sounds like you are going to pay it, so do it and go have fun and don’t waste any more energy worrying about it.

I seriously doubt you will ever get that money back.

I am the type that will spend the $1800 to not pay the $1800.

But that won't be necessary.  Want to bet I get it back? How about I won't pay it at all.  I got someone with clout on it now.

I hope what happened to me does not happen to you or anyone really.  We got to the check-in and there were no keys or anything for us.  We had checked in online and had our cruise ticket that we printed.  It took an hour and honestly if we were not in the Yacht Club I think it would have taken longer.  We were told that we were not listed on the ships manifest and later when we were onboard the Casino host told us we were listed as no shows.   But after we were on board and the Yacht club concierge straightened everything out it was a great cruise.  Now if I could only get the Voyagers Club to add our trip and our points...

Thanks Pat,

Had to push them, but it seems they have given us 2 free massages. Probably to compensate me for my push costs.
