molecrochip Posted February 26, 2022 #26 Share Posted February 26, 2022 To my knowledge, Iona is the only ship which charges a breakfast delivery fee. With Iona, you have a couple of additional places to grab breakfast aside from the MDR and buffet. Iona has also centralised food preparation except for a few specialised restaurants hence the approach being slightly different e.g. not offering a hot food option.

They did not offer the panini thing which is the only hot food option on the room service breakfast menu in November on Ventura plus no longer any hot drinks. This seems likely to be to facilitate a "get it ready in advance" system and wait staff just collect and deliver when time rolls round.
molecrochip Posted February 27, 2022 #28 Share Posted February 27, 2022 It could also be because the ships are still on reduced numbers in the hotel (bar/restaurant/cabin) departments.

I agree and the in front prep will assist there.

I can imagine that if you are used to the likes of Britannia, you might find Aurora or Arcadia disappointing. I can fully understand that but personally prefer old and characterful to big and busy. Me too
Tablelamp Posted March 2, 2022 #31 Share Posted March 2, 2022 It’s totally appalling not to offer fresh coffee with room service and have to rely on instant coffee (rubbish). I will need to take coffee bags with me for a 35 night cruise. Another of the P & O cruise cutbacks.

Better to go to the buffet and "grab and go" and take what you want back to your cabin. Strangely enough, it always seems to be me going to the buffet, whilst my wife makes the tea ! If you ask me it's about time P&O got a bulk purchase of Goblin Teasmade's. Do they still make them ?
