advance booking transfers

How far in advance should I book transfers? We are traveling on CCL Pride from Dover 7/22 and will spend a few days pre-cruise in London. I would like to get the transfers booked in advance but I wonder if 5-6 months might be a little too much, perhaps three? Any advice is appreciated.
