Kenai Fjord NP cruise vs Juneau whale watch?

Hi,

I know they are totally different but :) ...

We are planning to do Kenai Fjord NP cruise tour for sure and it seem like whale sighting is quite common in the Kenai Fjord NP. Question is, do I really need to do whale watching cruise in Juneau?

The thing is, we don't want to have similar activities. We really want to see whale but it doesn't need to be full hour of whale. Maybe 10-20 mins sighting from not-too-far distance is fine.

Anyone experience both tour and could compare from this perspective?

If whales are your priority, then book both out of Juneau and Seward. Frankly, you are not going to get a lot of 20 min. of viewing of anything out of Seward- It is a route trip with varied wildlife, not extended timeframes individual. My whale sightings have been less than 50% so, no- you can not count on sightings. Out of Juneau humpbacks are close to 100%. I do always go on both, every trip.
