sheila77 Posted April 9, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2022 We just booked a last minute cruise leaving on April 17 from New Orleans. My 6 year grand daughter will have to have a Covid test prior to boarding the Breakaway. Does anyone know if this is being done at the same location (Mariott - 859 Covention Center Blvd) when NCL was testing everyone? We already have the required PCR test scheduled for Friday, April 15. Thanks in advance! Sheila

No. The current protocol only requires those 12 and older to be vaccinated. Thoxse under 12 who are unvaccinated have to undergo additional testing. https://www.ncl.com/sail-safe?intcmp=pdt_sl_SAILSAFEVAC Will all guests be required to be vaccinated prior to the cruise? All guests age 12 and over, as well as all crew, must be fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks prior to departure, in order to board. While we welcome unvaccinated children under the age of 12 onboard, it is the responsibility of the guest to be aware of any local protocols and/or travel restrictions in place at the visiting destinations at the time of sailing. All unvaccinated guests under the age of 12 on sailings from or to a U.S. or Canadian port will be required to bring proof of a negative NAAT test (I.e. PCR) result administered by a verified third party within three days prior to embarkation date. Failure to comply will result in denial of boarding. Additionally, these guests will be subject to additional testing at embarkation and disembarkation administered and paid for by the cruise line. It is important to note that many countries, especially in Europe, are now requiring guests who have been fully vaccinated more than a certain number of months to also be ‘boosted’ in order to visit. Please review What vaccines will be accepted? For full details.
