bingo3 Posted April 14, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2022 I have never been in the arcades and am taking my grandchildren on this cruise in June. Can anyone tell me what the typical pricing range for games is? Thank you! Debbie

Ralphinsc Posted April 14, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Make sure if they are going to be allowed to buy games with their own seapass that you set limits. We found out that our son may need to be kept away from Vegas and the casino when he gets older on our 2019 cruise. Kid ate througha $100 arcade card and $100 of onboard charges on the first night before we noticed and cut off spending privileges. 🤣
Rare 1kaper Posted April 14, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Most of the games we played were between $1 and $1.30. The claw machine types were $1. The "carnival" type games, like basketball and throwing games were $1.30 but cheaper if you paid for 5 games.
Drazil65 Posted April 14, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2022 As someone previously mentioned, go to the kiosk and set limits for each child's S and S card. Can do it day by day if necessary. That way no surprises on your account. Also, when our son was younger (he is 19 now but has cruised since he was a toddler) , we would set expectations for the arcade. We choose 2 time frames each day (sea days) and 1 set time (right after dinner) for port days. The sea day times were once in the early afternoon (right after lunch) and once in the evening (right after dinner) at 30 mins each. He had a set amount to spend each day in the arcade ($25 a DAY at the time). We would put the total for the week on his acct then tell him there was a set day limit, he never went over the intended limit. You can do it day by day if you want to actually put the intended increments on each account. If he wanted to spend it all in one time frame then he could choose which time frame he wanted to use, if he divided the amount for that day then we would go both times (on sea days). This also taught him how to budget his money a on a trip for the sea days to some extent. It also managed expectations for how much time was spent in the arcade as he knew exactly when he could go. It saved a lot of angst being that we all did not have to listen to him ask when we could go to the arcade every 5 minutes.

When we went to guest services, they did not help us do day by day. We ended up just adding a bit to his limited here and there. I would have preferred day by day. Tiger0613 Posted April 14, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Skee-Ball is $4.05 for four games. I think one game is $1.55. I don't know for sure about the one game price since I only buy the four pack of games. I also don't know about any other games. I only play Skee-Ball. Denverdonkeys Posted April 14, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Most of the games are buy 4 for the cost of 3, but you have to play the 4 games right there. Most are odd amounts, except a couple that are an even $1. Some allow you to earn tickets, some don't. It's an arcade, so the prizes are cheap and not worth it. BUT my kids had fun! So whatever... JillK Posted April 14, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Could someone kindly explain what kind of a limit can be set with Carnival? I was assured on our March cruise with NCL that I could limit their accounts by our PVP and also the check-in agent but once onboard, guest services said that they either have full charging privileges or not. I would like to give my kids freedom to manage and spend their money as they see fit but recognize that they can easily get carried away with no appreciation for how much they are actually spending. Would love if I could set a limit for the week. Thanks!

I thought it was a per day one but we quickly found out it was the weekly one. we went to guest services to increase it but they didn’t help us set a daily one. So I don’t know about that. but you can set one for the total over the cruise for sure. In your cruise manager.
