suzeyQ Posted February 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2006 Uh oh... you're probably going to get some interesting responses to this one (it's a pretty hot topic). The rule is that each person needs their own card - sharing isn't allowed. Some people don't follow that rule and will argue that it's perfectly ok to buy one card for an entire family. It's up to you whether you choose to follow or break the rules. :)

jwlane Posted February 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2006 or just buy 2 or 3 cards...If you want to steal, this is fine.;) If you want to teach your kids the correct way, each gets their own.

irishnewbie Posted February 25, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted February 25, 2006 i'm so pleased that i found this site and have enjoyed reading the mainly helpful responses from people who have cruised before and know the answers to questions that newer people have. unfortunately for me, i just have to get this snide response to a genuine question. i genuinley was unaware of the guidelines, hence the questions, and am curious as to the value a child just turning three will get from the card. stealing!!!give me a break. irishnewbie Posted February 25, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted February 25, 2006 thanks suzey the reason i didn't actually search this topic was because i thought the answer was going to be a simple one...they all need one , or kids over x age need one! thanks a million your answer filled me in!:)
zotzer Posted February 25, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2006 You don't *have* to purchase the soda cards. Unless the kids will drink about 4 sodas each, every single day, it's cheaper to buy them a la carte. :) For some parents, however, it could be convenient as you can disallow charging on the kid's seapasses, yet if they have a sticker, they can get their own sodas without you having to sign for them. suzeyQ Posted February 25, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 25, 2006 The answer really is simple, as you thought - they each need one. What causes problems is when people start talking about whether or not it's ok to "cheat" and share cards. And invariably, that's what almost every "soda card" thread turns into, even when someone is asking a simple question like you did. By the way, I don't think jwlane was trying to be snide... the winking smilie probably means he/she was being somewhat tongue-in-cheek. But now you see how threads can turn nasty over a simple question?
katiel53 Posted February 26, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 26, 2006 My guess is that your 3 and 4 year old probably won't drink enough soda to warrant your buying a card. But seriously, it is stealing to use someone else's card to buy soda for your youngest. If you could see the threads where one card is purchased and the whole family uses it, you would understand where "we" are coming from.
