Booman14 Posted April 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2022 First time cruising to Key West- Suggestions on activities. My wife and I will be cruising to Key West for the first time this summer. What is there for us to do? We have not found any excursions that even look a little bit interesting. Suggestions please....
scpirate Posted April 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2022 I know what you mean. We have been one time about 20 years ago. We walked around and went to the Mel Fisher museum and some other famous persons house that i cant rember . It was a package deal and close to each other. We are going to ride the narrated hop on / hop off tour bus all the way around and then go back to what might be interesting since you can hop off, explore then get back on. Get a piece of key lime pie somewhere and sight see. I think it is a short stay at least for us 5-6 hours something like that. I enjoyed Key West but it isn't a real active port
jaga04 Posted April 23, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2022 It's hard to answer without knowing what types of things you like to do. The most unusual thing to do, and good in the hot summer, is to go on a snorkeling tour to the reef. Other common places to visit: Hemingway House Truman Little White House Butterfly Conservatory Walk/shop/eat/drink shop on/near Duval Street As has been said, going on a tour around the island will give you a good overview. Dante's restaurant has a pool, if you want to walk around to see the town and then cool off.
Booman14 Posted April 24, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted April 24, 2022 We are more, Mel Fisher Museum kind of people. I love snorkeling, but my wife, not so much . lol. This will be our first cruise in 22 years with just us. No kids, no family, just the two of us. She likes shopping and walking around. That's where we are going to spend the most of out time. Might be a day of the Museums, Hemingway's house, the Fort and shopping.....

Anyislandwilldo Posted June 10, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2022 Your wife will love Duvall Street. Loaded with lots of shops!! The original Margaritaville is on Duval Street. Another must do is stop for some Key Lime Pie. Kermits has frozen chocolate covered Key Lime Pie on a stick. YUMMY!!
