Sitka Downtown drop off?

So, I believe that in Sitka the ships dock outside of town and there is a free shuttle into town.  Can someone let me know if this is correct and where in town the shuttle drops you.  TIA

Yes, in Sitka ships no longer tender but dock at a privately owned dock.  A free shuttle, which runs continuously, drops folks off at the Harrigan Centenial Center which is downtown.

We took a ship excursion on our August 2021 cruise to Sitka but we did notice this sign was at the end of the pier.

I have seen folding wheelchairs placed in a “cargo hold” below the seating.   Contact the Sitka visitor’s bureau to ask if the buses have actual lifts.

We haven't been to Sitka since 2018, but at least one shuttle had a wheelchair lift.

I read somewhere that Fortress of the Bear may also run a shuttle from where the ship docks in Sitka - anyone else heard of this?  Planning to do our own thing vs planned excursion through cruiseline

I’ve never observed a shuttle to Fortress of the Bear operating at the Sitka cruise dock, but haven’t specifically looked for one either.  But outside of the Harriman Centenial Center there are vendors set up to offer excursions, including to the Fortress and the Raptor Center.
