Spa services booked ahead; can type of massage be adjusted on board?

I'm considering booking a massage for my husband ahead of our August voyage. We have an anniversary between now and then, and I know he would enjoy a massage during our vacation.

 

That said, I might not choose his first choice TYPE of massage from the spa menu.

 

I'd like to schedule the massage so I know it is booked for a convenient day/time according to our planned excursions, specialty restaurant dinners, etc. What I'm wondering is whether my husband, the recipient, would be able to change the type of massage on board later if I don't select the option he finds most appealing? I don't need a guarantee that this could be done, just a "best guest" from someone knowledgeable.

 

If availability of massage time slots tends to be very good even if booked on board, that would be helpful to learn, too.
