jj1814 Posted May 9, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2022 Welp the Bar Tab loophole (where Sailors could use Bar Tab virtually anywhere on the ship for non-beverages) is now closed. Virgin sent a notice out to travel agents today. I was hoping to take advantage of it in July. Poo!
neverendingcruising Posted May 11, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2022 Good to know, we used it on both of our voyages for things like the spa. Appreciate the tip!
yarramar Posted May 11, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2022 Does that mean it also cannot be used for specialty coffee?
Rare cantgetin Posted May 11, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2022 It CAN be used for specialty coffee, tea, smoothies, etc. This is in the print on the offer. The new policy is that it cannot be applied to non-drink purchases on the ship.
Fogcityca13 Posted May 11, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2022 I wondering if you can use it for the Grog Walk, assuming it applies to the drink pairing at Test Kitchen.
Rare CruisingWalter Posted May 17, 2022 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2022 That's kind of weird they allowed that loophole in the first place since it's a drink tab. I didn't realize they were allowing non-drink purchases for a while. The profit margins on drinks vs. products in their shops is quite different. 🙂

The rules didn’t allow bar tab to be spent generally, but the computer system hadn’t been set up to differentiate the bar credit from general credit, that’s now been fixed.
