NCL Travel Protection vs Third Party Insurance

Does NCL Travel protection cover cancelations of non refundable shore excursions booked with third parties?

(eg if ship changes itinerary based on weather)

It seems Allianz does not.

Do you know of any trip insurance providers that might?

Nationwide Prime is the only one I know about, but it also has a disclaimer for coverage of travel under CDC warning.

 

Be sure to talk to an agent so you know how the disclaimer would impact you.

Any reputable excursion company that deals with cruises will honor a refund if ship does not make it into port. Make sure any 3rd party company has that clause, if not go elsewhere.

For their basic coverage Nationwide is pricing $30 higher than Allianz.

The basic plan is not going to cover shore excursions. You have to get Nationwide Prime for that.

 

And you have to read/compare the policies to see what they cover.

 

First, decide what it is you want to insure. What risks concern you? 
 

Then, call a broker like the people at Trip Insurance Store. You need to talk to someone who can walk you through the process of picking a policy that meets your needs.

I'm not finding nationwide prime as one of the options nationwide offers.

the three options are: universal, choice or luxury.
