sandi422 Posted May 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2022 We begin our trip on land with the NCL tour and board the ship on July 4. Question for anyone who has done this trip recently- Did you have to present your negative test before beginning the land portion, or just before boarding the ship? angelmom1 Posted May 30, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2022 We are on the same trip and very interested in the answer. I asked my TA and he said that information will probably come when we can check in at 21 days out.
sandi422 Posted May 30, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted May 30, 2022 Our TA said that a test would not be needed until we boarded the ship as we are still in the US. She said there would be info sent from NCL shortly before we fly out to begin the land portion. Makes sense. I was wondering if we would have to test as well all be on a bus together. I’ll probably wear a mask on the bus.
angelmom1 Posted June 15, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2022 I printed out all my information today. I'm getting very excited for this trip. Most of my questions were answered, except the one about taking a COVID test before we get on the ship. I put a call in to my TA, but he hasn't called me back yet. I wonder if he even knows. We will see.
retired714 Posted June 16, 2022 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2022 (edited) this is from NCL Q&A. BTW - you are going a couple weeks before us. We are flying to Fairbanks - did they tell you what to do when you get to Alaska? I understand there is supposed to be a man with a sign that will take us to a hotel. Do you have more information than that? I’m a planner and this is driving me crazy. Thank you Edited June 16, 2022 by retired714
sandi422 Posted June 16, 2022 Author #6 Share Posted June 16, 2022 It is my understanding that there will be someone to meet us at the airport and take us to the first hotel. We have a transfer confirmation number that came from NCL in documents we received rom our TA. There should be someone from the tour company that will tell us what is required as far as testing and also to help facilitate whatever is needed. We purchased the "inspire" kit that includes a video proctor test. From what I understand, we will need to test before boarding the ship, but may not need to test before beginning the land tour. We'll be masking on the bus. I will try to remember to post again what happens on our tour. Things continue to change so fast. I am also a planner, but am trying hard to relax and be open to whatever happens. It's all part of the adventure.

Bus took us to the first hotel where we met our tour director ( John- who is fantastic). We were given a schedule. Everything is well planned. We were given the option to COVID test yesterday. Bus took us right to the testing site. 15 minutes after the test we got our results. We are currently in Homer for 2 nights. The bus will take us to the ship tomorrow. It has all been well planned and seamless!
