Skagway railroad question

Anyone took it recently? Is there still lots of snow at the summit while passing on the train? I saw video from two weeks ago and there were still walls of snow next to a train track. Just curious as planning to be outside on the viewing platform most of the time so need to dress accordingly (taking it next week).

We were on the train the first week of May. Lots of snow along the tracks. The stoves in each car were on so cars were nice and warm. On that particular day most were wearing light jackets on the viewing platform. As the viewing platform is very small no one stayed out for a long time to allow others the opportunity.

Most people, with the exception of one guy, (grrr) took turns on the viewing platforms. The views outside were better, obviously, not really that bad with a coat on. It was something like May 12th when we were on the ride. Lots of snow, glorious views all the way down to the harbor.

We were there 2 weeks ago, (May 11) lots of spectacular views! The snow was very high along the tracks and we got some phenomenal photos. The platform is small, so we used both platforms at the front and rear of the carriage. The carriage is heated, and they gave us bottled water. Bathrooms are clean.  Have a great trip!

For the of you that Have recently taken the train, are the tracks repaired now or is still a shortened ride?  Seems like reports were of a landslide or other mishap at MM 15/16 earlier.  I'm a little unclear about the details, just remember there was an issue.

We did the train today. Lots of snow! Very warm and we took at the 9 a.m. trip. Later in the week the temp will be 80. They have the front windows open and we had the back door open and there was a small breeze. She said it gets warm in the car otherwise.

It was a full 3 hour ride.
