Ft.laud to miami hotel Taxi? rental? shuttle?

We are (5) flying to ft.lauderdale in november for cruise that leaves from Miami Port. We will arrive a day early for a sunday cruise,. Does anyone have any ideas to get to a Hotel in miami and then to the port? Can I rent a car at the airport and drop it at the port? Should I just take a shuttle both ways ?

I am trying to find the worst economical way ( ok! OK! I'm a cheapskate and I just want to spend more money on the cruise) How bout a taxi to a hotel a taxi to the port then a taxi on the return to ft. lauderdale airport for the return home Thanks for any sugesstions short of walking

Taxi - $72.10 plus $1 fuel surcharge per person.

You cannot drop a rental car off at the port. The closest car rental office to the port is AVIS, less then a mile away. Otherwise you would have to drop it off at Miami airport.

The shuttle from FLL to your Miami hotel would cost $18 per person. From the hotel to the port, a taxi would be your best bet.

A taxi would not be very economical. The last poster provided the names and links to two excellent car services, I'd call them for rates.

Yep - TriCounty is the one to use. Simple and convenient & we arranged our return pickup at the pier right at the ground transport kiosk upon arrival at FLL and grabbed a towncar for less than a taxi!!!

I just called and they quoted me $86.50 from Port of Miami to FLL? There has got to be something better then that for 2 guests.

Top Shuttle shows a rate of $65 for up to 4 people. I have not heard any positive feedback about the company though. You could be the first to post a review.
