Norwegian July Cruise recommendation

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We are looking to do a 7-day cruise in Norway this July with HAL on the Rotterdam. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations which of the itineraries would be most scenic. We are flexible for either cruise option but didn't want to do the entire two week back-to-back.

Norse legends - Eidfjord, Bergen, Geiranger, and Aleund.

Viking Sagas - Oslo, Kristiansand, Stavenger and Flam.

I've done some research online but wanted to see what real people recommended! Thanks!

No experience with Geiranger, Kristiansand or Stavanger. Oslo is a fine city for sightseeing and the Viking museums are fantastic, not sure I'd class it as overly scenic. It will be a tough choice, but if it's scenery you prefer, I'd suggest the Norse Legends. Only caveat - Bergen is the wettest city in Europe, so factor that in.

Here are a few samples - hope they help you decide ... 🍺🥌

I've been to all of those ports multiple times. Each itinerary has a scenic cruise up a fjord to a small town. The ride back out is just as scenic, even when the weather has changed during the day.
Truly, if you are looking for scenery, flip a coin. If a particular port interests you, go with the itinerary that has it. I am especially fond of Alesund and Bergen.
