bones774 Posted June 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2022 Leaving from Funchai and taking 5 days to arrive at Bermuda, does anyone know how the cruise lines are handling this? I looked at Bermuda website and you either get a test before leaving embarkation point or have supervised test within 2 days of arrival, which would fall to Cruise lines to perform(and make it easier for pax). thanks

It's not a test before embarkation or a test within 2 days of arrival, it's both. You're required to have the pre embarkation test in order to receive your travel authorization and because your cruise will take longer than 4 days from embarkation to reach Bermuda you will also need to be tested again, no more than 2 days prior to arrival in Bermuda. Obviously this second test has to be conducted on board your ship. The rules can be found here: https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation . Note the word "AND" before the last sentence. Cruise voyage where ship takes longer than 4 days to arrive to Bermuda from embarkation port Travel Authorisation required. Application fee $40. COVID-19 NAAT test up to 4 days before embarkation OR Supervised antigen up to 2 days before embarkation AND COVID-19 NAAT or supervised antigen test up to 2 days before disembarking in Bermuda
bones774 Posted June 15, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted June 15, 2022 Yup, I missed the "and". Thanks Yeah hoping they drop the authorization completely but once that revenue comes in it is always hard to go back. 2 days before funchai, we'll be in Malaga, and days before that other port cities onboard the ship, still under the ships care. It seems like it will take a lot of ship resources to get this right.
