Ketchikan- Self-Drive Zodiac

Has anyone done the self-drive Zodiac in Ketchikan?  Is it worth the money? (2 adults and 19, 21, 23)

Not sure if this is the same one but we did one years ago with 8 of us (4 in each zodiac) and we had an absolute blast!!  The guide is in his own boat and we followed him. If he saw that you were comfortable he would go faster and we could zoom around a bit.  There are pre-planned sites they take you too however mid way we saw a whale and the guide asked if we wanted to track the whale or go see the sites.  Of course we picked whale!  They dressed us in warm waterproof gear before we set out and we felt a bit like the Michelin man!

@t&atravel what types of wildlife other did you see beside the whale?

Eagles.  The first stop he took us too they had food they tossed which brought the eagles down to catch it.  There could have been more wildlife sightings but we didn’t make any of the other stops.  For us it was about driving the zodiacs at that point.  Of course YMMV because we were a large group on our own so we could make those choices.  If you are on a boat or with a boat of other people then it will be more tailored.  I think it will still be fun for everyone though.
