Jaynay Posted July 1, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2022 Thinking about renting E-bikes to tour Acadia on the carriage trails. Individual rentals; not a tour. Has anyone done this? I haven't ridden an e-bike before but we do ride regular bikes regularly on bike paths. One that I am considering is the Pedego since it only requires pedaling to start. smurf1635 Posted July 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2022 I was really hoping someone could give some suggestions for this. This is also what we would like to do on our cruise.
Maggie4nc Posted July 16, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2022 We just reserved one E-bike and 1 regular bike for August. The E-bikes are from Acadia Outfitters and regular bike at Acadia Bike Rental. They are same company but different location on same street. We plan on riding along Eagle Lake, Bubble pond and Lake Jordan. We were inspired by this https://youtu.be/fEraCgkweMI. Hubby is an avid rider, and I ride too but I usually rent an E-bike if it's unknown terrain and I want to make sure I can keep up. Looks like after Bubble Lake it gets hilly. Will do an update on our experience once back as it is hard to find info like this here.
Ashland Posted July 19, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2022 WOW....Impressed with you that do this...I'm glad we did the regular Acadia Tour (bus) booked directly with the National Park and their amazing park ranger full of history and stories about Acadia and Bar Harbor. letsgogogo Posted July 19, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2022 We booked e bikes through www.pedegobarharbor.com. Never have ridden an e bike but both experienced riders here. Admittedly out of shape the last several years but leisurely riding is no problem. If it’s raining we will rent a little electric car from this place called Acadia Gem. All of these book up so best to reserve and cancel later if needed.
Twomaloneys Posted August 8, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2022 We were going to do e bikes, but have changed to doing tour with Ollie’s Trollies. I’ve read recently where some of the carriage roads have been washed out, didn’t want to chance it.
